Blues / Rock / Soul / Funk
From Memphis, TN, the musical mecca of the universe, Robert Allen Parker was simply born to play guitar. He got around to it at age 10 under the guidance of Scott Dodge (blues guitarist for Blind Mississippi Morris). Influenced at an early age by electric delta blues and the golden age of classic rock, 1965-1975, Parker began playing in bands around Memphis and developed his guitar skills in genres as diverse as funk, reggae, blues, and soul. Around this same time, he sharpened his skills as a songwriter.
